Our large stock of Treated Timber is the perfect structural material for a variety of building applications, such as roof and floor joists, partitions, and timber framing. Along with this, our Treated Timber is EN14081-2 Certified, making it perfectly suitable for both indoor and outdoor projects.
As well as our timber receiving the highest quality treatment, we sourced the highest quality Scandinavian Whitewood Spruce, a slow-growing tree that produces tight growth rings, leaving the finished timber with an extremely high level of stability and a premium finish. The process of manufacturing the timber is extremely environmentally friendly, with all of the wood is responsibly sourced. The timber then gets kiln-dried and treated, to ensure maximum protection against all forms of decay.
Our Treated Timber is available in a variety of sizes and lengths. However, we can also cut any Timber to your required length or pack together as many pieces as you require, just select the custom cut of your choice when purchasing.

What are the benefits of treated timber?

Yes, they’re 2 different names for the same process of adding chemicals to the wood to make it longer lasting and immune to insects, rot and fungus.
How to stop treated wood from turning grey?
Any wood after time will turn grey, dry out and crack if left exposed to the elements. To protect the wood from cracking or turning grey you could apply a clear water repellent sealer, satin or paint.
When should you use treated timber?
Treated timber can be used in moist conditions outside because of the way it’s treated. It will repel any insects that want to destroy the timber.
Do you need to wear safety equipment to cut treated timber?
Yes, you should always wear safety equipment when cutting treated timber such as goggles and dust masks. Never cut indoors always cut treated timber outside, also don’t burn treated wood.
Is treated timber toxic?
The stuff used to treat the timber contains a mixture of salts of copper sulphate, potassium dichromate and arsenic pentoxide. Children have a higher chance of getting arsenic poisoning if they do not wash their hands before eating.
Is treated timber waterproof?
Treated timber will need extra protection from water and moisture like a waterproof coat but remember to top it up every 12 months.
Is treated timber ok for outside?
Yes, treated timber is treated with copper, chromium and arsenic which protect the wood from fungi, termites and other insects.
How long does treated timber last?
Treated timber could last up to 15 years or sometimes longer if properly looked after. Non-treated wood will last up to 5 years but if exposed to weather it will last less time.
